Jodi has a penchant for the dark vein of humanity. Her love of narrative has lead her through writing into editing, publishing, book design, tarot and professional development. Her passion for wild, innovative ideas transcends and transgresses standard interpretations of story and form. The life blood of her creative exploration and expression is collaboration.
Jodi publishes short and long fiction across multiples genres including contemporary, speculative and epistolary fiction.
Her stories have appeared in local and international publications including the women’s only spec-fic anthology One Small Step and the award-winning Antipodean At The Edge. Her novellas Elyora and The Starling Requiem were both shortlisted for Aurealis Awards (Australia’s premier short fiction awards).
Her novels include Postmarked Piper’s Reach (with Adam Byatt), Her First Reality, Darkness (book one in the birthpunk constellation) and for release in 2022, What I Left to Forget (the prequel to Postmarked Piper’s Reach).
From 2009-2013 she was the co-owner and publishing editor at eMergent Publishing, publishing the Chinese Whisperings and Literary Mix Tapes conceptual anthologies.
As of 2018, she is a managing partner with The JAR Writers’ Collective with Adam Byatt and Rus VanWestervelt.
